Fox Hill Cross Country

2-8 km, relay
A lazy day off in the city? This is not you. You are surrounded by nature. Cross-country trails and open sky are waiting for you. A running classic that can bring surprises. How is it going to be this time?

On September 29, in the Bitsevsky Forest Park, the Fox Hill XC will be held. The loop route is 2 km. The distance is from 2 to 8 km depending on the gender and age category and relay. You will enjoy the cross-country run and a lot of fresh air!

The cross-country run implies separate starts apart from each other. During the entire competitive day, the athletes will run from a wide start line without corrals. If you are not ready to participate in large-scale runs yet, the Fox Hill XC may be an ideal solution for you.

The track is circular, the length of one lap is 2 km, completely unpaved, deep mud and puddles are possible.

How to register

To register for Fox Hill Cross Country, you must complete the online application form and pay the registration fee on Running Community website. During registration enter your personal data according to ID card. Otherwise you will not be able to pick-up your participant packet and bib number. After you have registered, you will receive a confirmation email.

Online registration will close 23:59 September 18,2024. Online registration may be closed earlier if the entry limit is reached.

Additional registration will be open September 29 from 9:00 to 13:10 at the start area in the Bitsevsky Park only for distances 2 km (girls 18-19 y.o.), 4 km (boys 18-19 y.o.) and 8 km (men 23-34 y.o.).

Registration requirements

  • Participants must be 18 years or older on the race day.
  • All participants are required to pick up their own participant packet (bib number) on September 27 15:00-20:00, September 28 11:00-18:00 or September 29 from 9:00.
  • All participants are required to show a government-issued photo ID and original medical certificate stating the participant has no contraindication to running in competition.
  • Registration fees are nonrefundable.

How to register

Registration is closed due to reaching the limit. There will be no additional registration.

In the relay can participate teams of four people aged 14 years and older. Applications from the teams should be sent to the email relay@runc.run.

Registration requirements

  • Participants must be 14 years or older on race day.
  • All participants are required to pick up their own participant packet (bib number) on September 27 15:00-20:00, September 28 11:00-18:00 or September 29 from 9:00.
  • Teams captain are required to pick up participant packets (bib numbers) for team.
  • The captain are required to show a government-issued photo IDs and original medical certificates stating the participant has no contraindication to running in competition upon picking up their own participant packet of all team members.
  • Power of attorney to pick up team participant packets.
  • Participants 14-17 years of age must present permission from their parents or legal guardian permitting them to participate in the race.
  • Registration fees are nonrefundable.

How to pick up participant packet

To pick-up participant packet you must present:

  • Government-issued photo identity document
  • Medical certificate stating the participant has no contra-indication to running in competition (medical certificate will not be returned, a photocopy of certificate is accepted upon presentation of the original)

If you can’t pick-up your participant packet on September 27 or 28, a friend or family member may serve as your proxy and pick up your race materials for you. Proxy must bring the following documents for person he/she is representing:

  • The original letter of attorney for a third party to collect participant’s packet
  • Government-issued photo identity document
  • A copy of the participant’s identity document
  • Medical certificate stating the participant has no contra-indication to running in competition (medical certificate will not be returned, a photocopy of certificate is accepted upon presentation of the original)

The power of attorney does not entitle the authorized person to participate in the race with your number. The transfer of the number is prohibited by the rules of the competition. A participant with a another's number will be disqualified.

Medical certificate

Medical certificate must proof that the participant has no contra-indication to running in competition. Medical certificate must be valid in the athlete's country of residence, filled in, stamped and signed by a doctor, and comply with all the rules and regulations enforced in the athlete's country. The certificate must be issued less than 6 months prior to the race.

Certificates will not be returned to the participants. A copy is acceptable upon presentation of the original certificate.

Getting there

Metro
From the metro station Belyaevo, walk along Miklukho-Maklaya Street to the intersection with Sevastopol Ave., enter the park and walk straight along the main path 650 meters.

By car
Free parking is available on Miklukho-Maklay Street and Vvedensky Street. There is no car entrance to the park.

Facilities

For your convenience, male and female changing tents, baggage storage and toilets are available in the start area.

Start & finish

Men and women of different age groups start at different times.

  • 10:00 — Start girls 18-19 y.o. for 2 km
  • 10:20 — Start boys 18-19 y.o. for 4 km
  • 11:00 — Start women 35 y.o. and older for 4 km
  • 11:40 — Start men 35 y.o. and older for 6 km
  • 12:40 — Start women 20-22 y.o. and 23-34 y.o. for 6 km
  • 13:40 — Start men 20-22 y.o. and 23-34 y.o. for 8 km
  • 14:50 — Start relay 4х1 km

You can only start in the race of your age group, which is listed on your bib number.

Follow directions from race officials and volunteers at all times for a safe and orderly start to the race. Please mind your fellow runners. Please take care not to endanger others or yourself. In order to be able to hear your fellow runners of volunteers we ask you to run without music headphones. Doing so you also won’t miss any cheers from the spectators.

No animals are allowed on the course.

Your net running time will start to be recorded when you cross the start line. Your net time will be registered once your cross the finish line.

After the finish you will receive drinking water.

If you are feeling unwell, please ask for the medical aid straight away.

Medical aid

Medical aid will be located at the start/finish area. Please do not hesitate to contact any medical personnel if you are having difficulties – we appreciate you doing so. If you need medical aid, you may to ask any volunteer or fellow runners to an emergency call for you.

Results

Your result will be measured with chip timing system, judges at the finish and the video registration system.

The timing chip will be fixed at the bib number.

Within a few hours after the last runner finish you will receive a text message and email with your draft result. The results list will be available online at this website.

Awarding

Participants who rank 1-3 in each age category will be awarded:

  • men 18-19, 20-22, 23-34, 35 and older
  • women 18-19, 20-22, 23-34, 35 and older

In relay will be awarded teams who rank 1-3 places.
